Alan Pardew wants to shift the 27-year-old - but the player does not want to go.

Hatem has fallen out of favour with Pardew after a bust up, and the Toon boss won't be moved.

Clark has admitted that he would be interested if the opportunity to the arose to sign Ben Arfa ... but only on loan ... because Brum could not raise the funds to buy him.

However, in the stand off "This Toon ain't big enough for the both of us" ... the loan deal could keep the midfielder at Newcastle!

Mike Ashley was at the match on Saturday and will hang around for the end of the transfer window, to buy or sell.

But he wants more than Pardew has been giving in the last nine months, and Pardew's job could be on the line.

Lee Clark: "We will see. We will see if anything comes up that is different to what we have got. You never know.

"It goes a bit crazy in the next 24, 48 hours and something might drop that could be of interest to us."

Birmingham lost for the second time in a week as they were defeated 4-0 by Wigan Athletic in their Championship clash.
