Celtic and Rangers are desperate to try ANY avenue to get into the English league because they believe they've "outgrown" the tuppence-hapenny Chilly Jocko League.

So they usually make a big noise about who they are going to sign, to try and impress our Premier League, although we all know it is "all wind and pish".

The Daily Haggis reported yesterday: "Celtic last night rubbished reports that they want to take Michael Owen from Newcastle for next season.

"The Parkhead club dismissed suggestions they'd be prepared to relaunch Owen's faltering career by handing him £50,000 a week on a pay-as-you-play deal.

"The ex-Liverpool and England striker is on £115,000 a week at St James' Park and Hoops sources laughed off the idea they would pay that kind of money for the injury-prone Owen as a work of fantasy and mischief."

Meanwhile when Owen was ALLEGEDLY asked about a move to Celtic he replied: "Who?"
