The midfielder scored his country's second in Friday's night's 2-0 Group D win at the European Championships against Ukraine.

Yohan Cabaye: "Sometimes I cannot believe what has happened to me over the last 12 months. It has been incredible.

"To score a goal for my country at a major championship is something that I dreamed about. It was a great moment for me.

"I had a fantastic season in England where I managed to settle into my new life and I feel I have come out of it a much better player.

"So let's see where we can go in the Euros because every game is different and difficult.

"How did it feel to score? I felt great joy and also relief.

"Then you start thinking of your children, so I of course thought of my little daughter. I think these are special moments that will stay with you forever in your career.

"But in the end what counts is the win for the team and I was just lucky enough to score.

"Samir Nasri, Karim Benzema and Jeremy Menez are top players. If a team wants to accomplish something special, it needs talent - and those players are talented.

"There is also Hatem Ben Arfa, who did not play against Ukraine.

"He is a special footballer and very exciting. I am sure he can do well if he gets his chance.

"Those four players are really talented. The rest of us stay behind them and try to keep our eyes open. Because, let's put it like this, in the attack they run a little bit everywhere.

"But that's not a bad thing as long as they do their job and score goals. That's what is really important. We are there to support them and help them play.

"We can consider ourselves lucky to have them, and I hope that they will stay without any injuries and in good form for the rest of the tournament."
