If the second richest club in the world cannot hang onto its best players, where does that put the rest of us. BUT ... as pressure mounts on Man Utd to hang onto Cristiano Ronaldo ... Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced the Glazer family would reject any big-money bid for their star winger.
Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are both believed to have targeted Ronaldo for a world record £45million to land the 22-year-old, but Ferguson and United chief executive David Gill have consistently stated Ronaldo is going nowhere.
Ronaldo cost a bargain £12million when United signed him from Sporting Lisbon in 2003.
Ferguson: "I am very confident the Glazers would not sell. We always refer things to them, because they are the owners. They would have the final decision - but they have been great. There has been no problem at all."
