Trotters chairman Phil Gartside has confirmed the club hope to break the £8million they paid for Nicolas Anelka within the next week and Saha now appears to be the player he wants. Saha is seen as crowd favourite Anelka's replacement.

Luis came on loan during Ruud Gullit's term in office and looked very exciting in the few games he played. He scored a quite spectacular goal against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup to take Newcastle into the cup quarter finals.
