Bolton have already wrapped up the £5million signing of Fabrice Muamba but Gary Megson has been assured there is plenty more cash to spend and a new striker is now the target.

Trotters chairman Phil Gartside has confirmed the club hope to break the £8million they paid for Nicolas Anelka within the next week and Saha now appears to be the player he wants.

Saha is seen as crowd favourite Anelka's replacement.
