Sammy Lee admits he is worried about Bolton's start to the Barclays Premier League season, and it has not been helped by the Bolton fans doubting O'Brien's ability.

The Republic of Ireland international missed out in midweek with doubts about his fitness. However, Lee may decide O'Brien's experience will be vital against Portsmouth.

Lee takes his side to Fratton Park on the back of two successive defeats against Newcastle and Fulham.

Lee: "Nobody likes losing and I certainly don't but you just have to keep cracking away.

"Losing erodes away at your confidence. I am concerned but I know full well I have to pick the lads up again.

"Hopefully we will turn a corner. We have some time to to address it and get everything right for the weekend."
