Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is confident that owner Mike Ashley will hand him a significant January transfer kitty, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper report that the Spaniard has already identified multiple January targets after holding several scouting meetings and being in regular contact with managing director Lee Charnley.
The Mirror claim that Ashley seeing the situation first-hand – he has been in attendance during their last five games – is likely to have convinced him to release funds in January, with the Sports Direct tycoon obviously keen to avoid the costs of relegation.
