Shay Given: "I felt we deserved the clean sheet. I felt we limited them to very few chances, and the team as a whole deserve a lot of credit for that.

"They were second behind Chelsea in goals scored away from home, so we knew they were a handful going forward, but we felt we could maybe cause them some problems of our own.

"I think the whole team defended, and that includes the midfield and the forwards. They deserve a lot of credit for the clean sheet.

"We're delighted with the clean sheet, as it doesn't happen too often. We need to improve on that and have more clean sheets. Hopefully, we can build on that.

"I felt the team as a whole played really, really well. We gave them a really good game, and I think we deserved to win.

" I don't know what happened with that one (Agbonlahor's miss). Agbonlahor must have taken his eye off it for a second.

"But it was an important save off Ashley Young. I just managed to get close enough to get something on it, and it was an important time to make a save.

"Had they gone 1-0 up, it could have been different. But it wasn't about one save - the whole team did well."
