United battled hard at Stamford Bridge, but the defeat at Chelsea last time out saw Steve Bruce's side drop back into the relegation zone.

Wolves endured a tricky start to the Premier League season, but recent results have lifted Nuno Espirito's side into mid-table.

The visitors' are now having to juggle the demands of a Europa League campaign along with their domestic duties following a successful first season back in the top flight.

Wolves face a trip to Slovan Bratislava on Thursday night before making the trip up to Tyneside for the televised kick-off on Sunday.

United emerged victorious from their last fixture at St James' Park against Manchester United, with the Red Devils also in Europa League action just days prior.

Speaking to the club's official website, Willems believes Wolves' European commitments could play to the hosts' advantage.

When asked whether it was a good time to play Wolves, the on-loan defender said: "“Of course and in the shape we are, I think it’s the best.

"Man United also played also in Europe, so they willl find it tough too.

"You don’t play Chelsea everytime away, and I think the home games we play well so we will see.”

“We are not playing every week against Chelsea away. We will give everything, and we are positive.

“Everything is quite tight, so if you win you maybe go to 16th or something. You never know."
